Biography
The main responsibilities of the role include identifying opportunities for research funding, constructing bids for research grants and undertaking research on existing, and new inter-departmental projects. This involves planning, costing, coordinating and implementing research programmes in line with the University’s policies and funder requirements as well as evaluating project outcomes. In addition, the role emphasises the importance of knowledge exchange and transfer through inter-disciplinary collaboration and appropriate dissemination via conferences and engagement with local authorities and service user groups. Finally, the role requires an on-going contribution to the research excellence framework through the publication of high impact papers.
