Biography
After a career within the telecommunications industry I returned to my studies in 2010 and have excelled in all I have done. I began studying sport and exercise science with the culmination of my work focussing on muscle potentiation, fatigue and how they are associated with performance. The following year I began working at Walsall FC as a performance analyst intern for the youth academy and concomitantly wrote a Masters thesis investigating the determinants of success within a professional football team. I hope to have this paper published in the coming months. This year I have been studying for my PGCE (PCE) which has led me into teaching; I have been teaching sport and exercise science and exercise health modules from levels three to six. Accordingly the focus of my research interest has moved from sporting performance to the potential of physical activity as medicine and I hope to be involved in related projects in the upcoming months. I also hope to further my academic profile; I received some very positive feedback around the work I have completed for my PGCE and found the process of investigating pedagogy very interesting but my aim is to begin studying for a PhD in clinical physiology within the next 12 months.
