Biography
My main specialism is Physical Education but also have a passion within the field of Sport Psychology after completing my MSc in this area in 2004. Professional experience includes teaching/lecturing Physical Education in Early Years, Primary, Secondary, Post-16 and Higher Education. My teaching career began in a Specialist Sports College in the West Midlands, teaching Physical Education. I have taught in schools in the UK and Italy, with experience of delivering the International Baccalaureate and the UK National Curriculum. Currently I teach and lead on a range of undergraduate modules on the BA (Hons) Physical Education degree and have recently taught on the Top Up degree at the Mauritius Branch Campus. I am actively involved in the early stages of research and I am collaborating with colleagues on a number of projects. Areas that I wish to explore further are: UK trained PE specialists pedagogical transition into the International Baccalaureate, Inquiry based teaching in Physical Education and Physical Play and Self-Regulation in Early Years.
