Biography
Having worked for different HEIs in the UK, I am experienced in programme accreditation processes. I have taken part in various curriculum reviews and designing new modules and programmes at my current and previous employments. My insight into the operational and quality auditing processes in higher education led to my involvements as an external panel member for the revalidation and validation of psychology degrees at University of Worcester (2007/2008) and Glamorgan University (2005/2006). I also worked as an external examiner for Undergraduate and Postgraduate Psychology Awards (2009/2010) and for Postgraduate Psychology Awards (2004-2007) at Glamorgan University.
Research Interest
There are two main research strands in my research activities: impacts of children’s various language skills on their reading comprehension and literacy and the development of reasoning and thinking. I collaborate with Dr Gaby Silva-Maceda at Universidad Autonoma de San Luis Potosi (UASLP), Mexico on the relationship between language skills and literacy development. Part of the research project was awarded £16,335 by the Department of Education, Mexico in 2015. The findings have been presented at international conferences in Lithuania, Germany, UK and Mexico.
