Biography
In 2007 I graduated from Aston University with a BSc (Hons) in Human Psychology. Shortly after this I joined the University of Wolverhampton as a psychology demonstrator. The following year I was awarded a scholarship from the University to pursue a PhD. My thesis focused on personality and individual differences as predictors of social networking engagement. Whilst completing my PhD I also briefly worked at Coventry University as a lecturer in psychology. In 2012 I became a lecturer at the University of Derby. I came back to the University of Wolverhampton in August 2015. I consider myself a social cyberpsychology researcher and specialise in social networking research.
Research Interest
My main research interests lie within the social side of cyberpsychology. I am interested in individual differences within social media use. Specifically, my research has explored personality as a predictor of why and how we use Facebook, and for what purpose. Our personality dictates how we will react within offline social situations, and this tends to translate to our choices within social networks such as Facebook.
