Biography
I have worked locally in secondary mathematics education for 20 years as a classroom teacher then later as Head of Department and most recently Assistant Head teacher. I joined the University of Wolverhampton in January 2016. My career in teaching was sparked by an enthusiasm for mathematics but as I became more involved in education I quickly developed a passion for raising standards. Improving the quality of teaching and learning in mathematics became a dominant aspect of my work and I came to see myself as a maths educator before a mathematician.
