Biography
Since 1995 Ann has undertaken a range of roles in the University including being Course Leader for the Specialist Teaching Assistant programme which ran across Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Birmingham, Coventry and Solihull Local Authorities (1995- 1998). From 1995 to 2005 Ann took on the role of Primary Partnership Manager during which time the Partnership developed successfully and she increased capacity and the engagement between schools and the University; she also established a successful Partnership Steering Committee. Her research for her MA explored the interface between the main stakeholders of partnership in ITT and she adopted a case study approach to explore key features of effective partnership in relation to the complementary roles and perceived benefits of all stakeholders. Ann also engaged widely in the TDA (now NCTL) Regional Networking Groups. In 2008, Ann took on a senior leadership role with responsibility for Institute of Education Quality and Enhancement and was Chair of Institute Quality Committee. She also represented the Institute on the University Academic Standards and Quality Committee.
Research Interest
Ann’s research interests include the pedagogy and curriculum of history education and related values, and citizenship education within the subject. She is also interested in behaviour management and pedagogy of Initial Teacher Training.
