Biography
Deborah is a Senior Lecturer within the Institute of Education. She is also the Primary Partnership Lead and teaches on the Primary Professional Studies modules on the UG course. She joined the Institute in September 2015. Prior to that, she worked for 25 years in a wide variety of school settings having taught in a one form entry Primary school with a nursery, a small, rural church school in addition to a large, urban, community Primary school. She was a class-based teaching deputy head teacher for 3 years and a head teacher at a school in Worcestershire for 11years during which time she also took the roles of SENCo and Safeguarding lead.
Research Interest
Deborah’s interests include SEND (with a particular interest in working memory), behaviour management and the importance and impact of teamwork within the school setting.
