Biography
Jill joined the Institute of Education in 2013 becoming the Head of Secondary and Post Compulsory Strategic Partnership and in January 2014 her role was extended across the primary and secondary phases as Head of Strategic Partnership. Having taught Geography at three high schools in Herefordshire, Jill gained Advanced Skills Teacher Status and became the Lead Geography Teacher in Herefordshire; working with trainee teachers and teachers to provide demonstration lessons and specialist support and advice for geography in primary and secondary schools in the county.
Research Interest
Her research has focused on the perceptions of newly qualified teachers into the profession and the role of mentors in supporting and modeling classroom practice with peers and trainees. Jill has presented her research work at the 2013 and 2015 Annual TEAN Conferences .
