James Grischeff

Biography

James provides a technical lead to the Catchment Sensitive Farming project across the country, focussing very much on nutrients/ soils and other Agricultural pollution issues. He began life as a farm adviser in the dry rangelands of the South West of Queensland, supporting farmers to control noxious weeds and animals and reduce soil erosion in order to improve farm sustainability and encourage nature conservation. This led to a brief stint with the Farming and Rural Conservation Agency in Devon working on the Countryside Stewardship Scheme.

Research Interest

This brief stint in England has now expanded to 12 years primarily working in the South West, moving from agri-environment work to Catchment Sensitive Farming in 2006, initially as a Catchment Sensitive Farming Officer in Dorset. Somerset Cricket Club and the Wilds of Exmoor are his favourite haunts if not boring his English wife and kids about manure and dirt.
