Biography
Neil Harvis heads up the SRUC’s Crop Protection Team in Edinburgh. The team’s work on crop protection focuses on understanding resistance of the host plant to diseases and pests, and then using that knowledge to offer practical solutions to farmers.
Research Interest
His research interests cover some of the major pathogens of barley, oilseed rape and potatoes including ramularia, light leaf spot late blight and fusarium. Other elements of his work include managing cereal and oilseed crops using integrated pest management and developing new risk forecasts to help farmers with their disease control programmes.
