Biography
Julie holds a Masters in Education and Leadership from the Open University. Julie took up the role of senior lecturer in August 2016, after taking on several Principal Lecturer and leadership roles, and now focuses on her research and her teaching. Julie teaches on the Shakespeare module, the Contemporary MA and Literature’s employability module. Julie also contributes to the University’s Postgraduate award in Academic Practice. Prior to moving to a SL role, Julie had been in involved in many strategic developments at York St John University. She has worked as Head of Department: Humanities, Deputy Dean in the Faculty of Arts (Student Experience) and Principal Lecturer with responsibility for quality in the School of Management, Community and Communication (now York Business School). As Principal Lecturer with a responsibility for the University’s Joint Honours programmes, Julie introduced new subject pairings and established a format for delivery which still underpins the Joint Honours awards today.
Research Interest
Julie is interested in Digital Learning and has developed Distance Learning modules for students who are studying abroad for a semester.
