Biography

Mr. Daniel E. Power, III founded Oceana Energy Company and serves as its Chief Executive Officer, President and Director. Mr. Power leads Oceana Energy Company's planning and engineering effort and is the principal technology investigator under the company's Cooperative Research and Development Agreement with the U.S. Naval Surface Warfare Center. He has worked for the past 30 years in the energy, environment and engineering fields. Most recently, he has developed technologies for companies in the ocean energy industry. He conceived and designed the tidal energy collection technologies at the core of the Oceana patents. Previously, he served as a Senior U.S. Air Force Engineering Officer, where he was responsible for managing military construction programs amounting to $180 million per year. He successfully managed the Air Force’s pilot Energy Conservation Program that ultimately resulted in cost savings of $6.3 billion. His other activities in environmental development have included advising the Chinese government on environmental issues, spearheading efforts to green the United Nations Headquarters facility in New York City, serving on the Board of the National Council for Clean Indoor Air and serving as a founder of The Climate Institute in Washington, DC for 26 years. Mr. Power holds a B.E. degree in Civil Engineering from the Vanderbilt University School of Engineering.
