Biography
As the administrative director of the Center for Intelligent Information Retrieval (CIIR), Jean organizes and directs programs and policies for the CIIR. She joined UMass Amherst Computer Science in 1992 as the administrative coordinator of the Center for Real-Time & Intelligent Complex Computing Systems (CRICCS) and the CIIR. She has held her current position since 1995. Until 2000, she was also the licensing officer of the Applied Computing Systems Institute of Massachusetts (ACSIOM), a non-profit corporation that provided technology transfer activities for the campus. She received an MBA from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a BS in business management from Westfield State University.
