Biography

Dr. Peter Ralston, an Assistant Professor in the Marketing and Economics Department, conducts research on inter-organizational relationships. Ralston often studies them from the perspectives of supply chain management and logistics, and he values practical involvement and feedback on his research. Topics include Long-Term Supply Chain Risk and Management, Supply Chain Collaboration and Innovation, and Supply Chain Power, Services and Strategy. One of his current research projects examines “Leveraging Innovation: Taking Co-Developed Best Practices to New Applications.” Another looks at “Collaborative Benefits and the Mediating Effect Between Supply Chain Collaboration and Performance.” Ralston earned a Ph.D. in Supply Chain Management from Iowa State University in 2014; he has an MBA from the University of Alabama, also in Supply Chain Management. His work has been published in the Journal of Business Logistics, the Journal of Supply Chain Management, and International Journal of Logistics Management. Ralston also has participated in proceedings at the Society for Marketing Advances Annual Conference and The Logistics Doctoral Symposium at The Ohio State University. Ralston previously was an Operations Manager for S. P. Richards, a Chicago firm, where he shared responsibility for a $50 million operation, initiated cost savings measures worth $200,000 a year, and managed 58 employees.
