Biography

Charles H. Bombardier, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist and head of the UW Medicine Division of Clinical and Neuropsychology. He treats psychological and substance use problems in people with brain or spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis and other disabilities. Dr. Bombardier earned his master's and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from Washington State University, Pullman. He completed his internship and fellowship in medical psychology at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, North Carolina. He is board-certified in rehabilitation psychology. His clinical interests include improving mental, physical and cognitive health; treating depression, pain and physical inactivity; and addressing substance abuse in people physical and/or cognitive disabilities. His research interests include treating major depression with exercise, counseling or medication; and promoting healthy behaviors and reducing substance use in people with physical and/or cognitive disabilities.
