Research Interest
I have several research interests, and the common thread throughout is the analysis of the professional relationship in advancing treatment. For example, I examine how the therapy relationship is established and how it works in psychotherapy, and recently we published two articles (DOI 10.1080/02668734.2014.1002417 and http://dx.doi.org/10.1080/09515070.2013.845548) where my team examined the development and interplay of the three theorized components of the relationship in treatment (i.e., the real relationship, the working alliance, and the transference/countertransference configuration) and how they related to outcome when therapy was either more or less successful.
