Biography
Founder of industrial biotechnology company Zymetis which was acquired in 2011 by Aemetis. Recognized leader in the field of bacterial molecular biology and is the world’s foremost authority on certain bacterium from which the company derives its unique intellectual property. Has more than 211 formal research presentations and publications, multiple patents granted with seven patents pending, and has served on 18 advisory panels for Federal funding agencies. Earned his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley and served for 25 years at the University of Maryland as a professor in the Department of Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics.
