Ronald Shoup

Biography

      Ron Shoup, Ph.D. served as the company’s scientific founder and has held executive leadership roles since September 2008, most recently as CSO since 2013. Shoup has been responsible for motivating the AIT Bioscience team to think differently and see where new technologies could improve quality and efficiency. Shoup will remain part of AIT Bioscience in the role of Executive Advisor where he will continue to leverage his more than thirty-five years of entrepreneurship and scientific expertise to provide high quality bioanalytical solutions. Shoup was the Executive Director of AIT Bioscience from September 2008 to 2011 and was President in 2012. Shoup came to AIT Bioscience after serving as Chief Scientific Officer at Bioanalytical Systems, Inc. (BASi) in West Lafayette, Ind., where he served in various capacities, including fourteen years on its board of directors. Shoup’s entrepreneurship, and scientific expertise stem from more than thirty years in bioanalytical instrumentation and contract research organization development motivated the AIT Bioscience team to think differently and see where new technologies could improve quality and efficiency. Shoup earned bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and mathematics with highest distinction and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind. While initially pursuing his doctorate at Michigan State University, he was awarded a special first-year fellowship. He completed his Ph.D. at Purdue and was named an outstanding alumnus in 2006 by the Purdue University Department of Chemistry. Shoup maintains memberships with the American Chemistry Society, the American Society for Mass Spectrometry, and the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists. He is currently serving on two harmonization teams under the Global Bioanalytical Consortium, in tiered method establishment and analytical instrument qualification.
