Biography

David E. Hart, MD, FAAN treats diseases of the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles. Some of the more common problems that he diagnoses and treats are strokes, epilepsy (seizures), headaches, dementias (Alzheimer's disease), multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, chronic pain and a wide range of other neurological illnesses. Dr. Hart has served as the Chief of Neurology and Medical Director for several neurological institutions. He has been a member of the faculty at Albany Medical College since 1993, where he served as clinical associate professor of neurology. Dr. Hart is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) in Neurology with added qualifications in clinical neurophysiology. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Neurology, and a member of the AAN's Geriatric Neurology section. He is on the Board of Directors for the Alzheimer's Association of NENY. Dr. Hart is a clinical investigator who has participated in numerous clinical trials and his expertise is in the subspecialty of neurophysiology and peripheral nerve disorders (including Guillain-Barre syndrome) and in Alzheimer's disease.
