Eric Van Oppens

Biography

 Eric Van Oppens is Head, Global Strategic Initiatives at Alcon and is a member of the Alcon Executive Leadership Team. Mr. Van Oppens has held a number of leadership roles in Novartis since he joined the group in 2005. He has lived and worked in Asia since 2009 based in the Philippines, South Korea and Singapore. He most recently was Region President, Asia for Alcon. Previously, he was the Head of Asia Cluster for Novartis Pharma Division, leading 10 country pharmaceutical operations organizations including Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Singapore, Myanmar, Sri Lanka & Cambodia. Before that, he served as Novartis Country President and Head of Novartis Pharma in Korea and previously also led the Philippines, Singapore, and Indonesia Cluster. Eric was also Head of Marketing & Sales for most of what is now AMAC across Asia, Middle East, Africa, and CIS in 2008 in Novartis Pharma. Eric’s Novartis Pharma career began in Morocco, where he served as Country Pharmaceutical Organization Head Morocco and North Africa Cluster Head.
