Biography
Vice President Dick Jacobsen was born in Squaw Harbor, Alaska and raised and attended school in Sand Point. He attended Sheldon Jackson and later obtained his Commercial Pilot’s license in Seattle. He resides in Sand Point with his wife Edee. Dick entered public service by helping local fishermen organize the Peninsula Marketing Association and served as President (1967-1980). Dick served the Shumagin Corporation as a Director (1976-1991) and as President (1980-1991). Other public services include membership on the Sand Point City School Board, City Council, Alaska Board of Fish, Advisory Board of International North Pacific Fisheries Management Council, Gulf of Alaska Coastal Communities Coalition, and the Alaska Marine Transportation Advisory Board.
