David Brennan

Biography

Mr. David R. Brennan serves as a Member of Executive Board at Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America. Mr. Brennan served as an Interim Chief Executive Officer of Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. from December 12, 2016 to March 27, 2017. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of AstraZeneca Plc at MedImmune, LLC from January 1, 2006 to June 1, 2012. Mr. Brennan served as Treasurer of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America since March 2007. He served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP (which does business as Astrazeneca U.S) where he was responsible for all operations in the U.S. From 2001 to 2006, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of AstraZeneca's North American subsidiary. Mr. Brennan served as Executive Vice President of North America Division of AstraZeneca Plc from 2001 to 2006. He served as Senior Vice President of Commercialization and Portfolio Management of AstraZeneca. Before the merger of Astra AB and Zeneca Plc, he served as Senior Vice President of Business Planning and Development of Astra Pharmaceuticals LP, the American subsidiary of Astra AB. Mr. Brennan began his career in 1975 at Merck and Co. Inc., where he rose from Sales Representative in the U.S. Division to General Manager of Chibret International, a French subsidiary of Merck that specializes in ophthalmic. He has been an Independent Chairman at Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since May 10, 2017. He served as the Chairman of Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America. Mr. Brennan joined Innocoll GmbH advisory board in May 2014. Mr. Brennan has nearly 40 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry. He served as the Chairman of the Board for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Heart Association from 2004 to 2006. He is Board member of the Chief Executive Officer Roundtable on Cancer. He has been Director of Insmed Incorporated since May 2014. He serves as a Member of the Executive Board and Board Member of the European Federation for Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA). He has been a Director of Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since July 2014. He served as an Independent Director at Innocoll Holdings plc (formerly known as Innocoll AG) from March 16, 2016 to July 24, 2017. He served as a Non Executive Director of Reed Elsevier plc since November 1, 2012. He served as a Non-Executive Director of Reed Elsevier Group Plc since November 1, 2012. He served as Member of Supervisory Board of Innocoll AG (formerly Innocoll GmbH) since May 2014 until March 16, 2016. He served as Member of Supervisory Board of Reed Elsevier NV since November 1, 2012. Mr. Brennan served as an Executive Director of AstraZeneca Plc from March 14, 2005 to June 1, 2012. He serves as President of the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations (IFPMA), Member of the European Roundtable of Industrialists, Member of the National Institute of Health Roundtable on Evidence Based Medicine and Honorary Board Member of the US CEO Roundtable on Cancer. He was a participant and member of the International Business Council of the World Economic Forum. Mr. Brennan holds Bachelor's of Arts in Business Administration from Gettysburg College, where he serves on the board of trustees.
