Biography
Carole has been in the business of helping people heal for over 25 years. A psychotherapist and clinical social worker, her expertise is in equine assisted psychotherapy. At the Horse Play Therapy Wellness Center in Huntington Beach, California, Carole helps her clients work through issues and achieve personal goals by working with horses. Her clients run the gamut: those recovering from addiction, married couples, employee groups developing leadership skills and more. “Horses mirror a lot of what’s going on with people,” says Carole, a former professor of sociology and child development. “Because horses are prey animals, their senses are heightened.” In 2013, Carole formed the non-profit program Horse Nation Foundation. Horse Nation utilizes horses rehabilitated from neglect and abuse to heal children at risk for abuse and neglect. Horse Nation’s Youth Enrichment program has partnered with the Huntington Beach Police Department and the Los Angeles Police Department to identify kids in need and to help heal these kids.
