Mallory earned her B.S. in Civil Engineering from California State Polytechnic University Pomona, a Certificate of Specialization in Recycling and Resource Management from Golden West College and most recently a M.S. in Green Technologies from the University of Southern California. An Environmental Scientist for the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery since 2013, Mallory provides assistance to stakeholders in Orange County on waste and recycling topics. She aims to use her knowledge on southern California’s waste stream to work with Algalita on preventing plastic pollution and starting local diversion programs in Long Beach. Mallory, a former in-classroom tutor to high school students for six years brings a background of education, engineering and recycling experience to tackling environmental issues and shares Algalita’s passion for a plastic free world. When Mallory isn’t working she is trying to keep up with family on southern Californian hiking trails, sampling food in some far off country or at home working in her garden.
