Biography
Mr. Jere W. Thompson, Jr. is a Co-Founder of Ambit Energy L.P., and serves as its Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Thompson is a Co-Founder of Ambit Energy, Inc. and serves as its Chief Executive Officer. He served as President of CapRock Telecommunications Corp. (one of Caprock Communications Corp.'s predecessor companies) since April 1994 and since July 1992, upon founding CapRock Fiber Network Ltd. ('CapRock Fiber'), another of Caprock Communications Corp.'s predecessor companies, as the President of its general partner. He served as Chief Executive Officer of Harris CapRock Communications, Inc. (formerly Caprock Communications Corp.) since February 1998. In 1987, Mr. Thompson joined The Thompson Company, where he served as Vice President and assisted in the acquisition and management of several of The Thompson Company portfolio companies. From 1982 to 1986, he served in Commercial Real Estate as a Broker and then with Trammell Crow Community Development Company. He also served with Goldman, Sachs & Co. Mr. Thompson served as Chairman of the Board of Caprock Communications Corp. since February 1998 and its Director since 1998. He served as the Chairman of the North Texas Tollway Authority and its predecessor, the Texas Turnpike Authority since 1995 and also served as its Member of the board of Directors since 1989. He serves as Director of Cistercian Preparatory School and the Southwestern Medical Foundation. Mr. Thompson received an B.S. in Economics at Stanford University and a M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin.
