Biography
Elise R. Eberwein has been an Executive Vice President of People and Communications at American Airlines Group Inc. and American Airlines, Inc. since December 09, 2013. Ms. Eberwein served as Senior Vice President of People, Communications and Culture of US Airways Inc. since September, 2006. She served Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications of AWA, subsidiary of US Airways Group, Inc. from November 2005 to September 2009. She joined America West Airlines in 2003 as vice president – Corporate Communications. She was responsible for overseeing America West Airlines Inc.'s media relations and employee communications. She served as Senior Vice President of People and Communication at US Airways Group, Inc. until September 2009. She served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications of US Airways Group, Inc. and US Airways from November 2005 to September 2006. Ms. Eberwein served as Senior Vice President of People, Communication and Culture of US Airways Group, Inc. since October 2006. She served as Vice President of Communications of Frontier Group Holdings, Inc. (also known as, Frontier Airlines Holdings, Inc.) from June 2000 to September 19, 2003. She served as Senior Vice President and Vice President of Corporate Communications at US Airways Group Inc. She served as Vice President of Corporate Communications of US Airways, LLC since September 22, 2003. She served as Director of Corporate Communications at AWA from 1998 to September 19, 2003. She served as Director of Corporate Communications of Western Pacific Airlines from 1997 to 1998. Ms. Eberwein served in various positions at Trans World Airlines Inc., including Director of Communication Support Services, Sales Promotion Manager, In-Flight Services New Hire Supervisor, Flight Service Manager and Flight Attendant from 1986 to 1997. She was awarded the 2012 Volunteer Executive of the Year by the Phoenix Business Journal for US Airways’ community services programs and named as a Woman Worth Watching by Profiles in Diversity Journal in 2010. Under her leadership, US Airways’ diversity and inclusion initiatives earned awards in 2012 from LATINAStyle, Military Times Edge and Black EOE Journal as a top diversity employer. In 2015, she was named one of Premier Traveler’s 20 Most Compelling Women in Travel. She is a member of the board of trustees for the Arthur W. Page Society and also serves on the board of the Wings Club. Ms. Eberwein holds Executive Master's degree in Business Administration from Colorado State University and Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications from Lindenwood University.
