Biography
Benjamin Kirk Canales, M.D., MPH, Vice President and Director of Research, Translational Unit, is world-renowned in his work in kidney stone disease and pathogenesis. Dr. Canales has an extensive knowledge and experience in the area of minimal invasive urologic surgery. He received his B.S. in Biological Sciences and MPH at Louisiana Tech University. Dr. Canales received his MD at Louisiana State University. He is currently a practicing physician and an Associate Professor of Urology in the Department of Urology at Shands Teaching Hospital at the University of Florida and Veteran’s Administration Medical Center.b
