Biography
As vice president of government relations and public policy for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona (BCBSAZ), Charles Bassett is responsible for the formulation of the organizationýs public policy and all local, state and federal government relations. Bassett serves as the organizationýs contact for all legislators, government officials, community leaders and the media regarding legislative issues.Prior to joining BCBSAZ in 2000, Bassett was an attorney for Low & Childers, a Phoenix-based insurance law firm. He has also served as Rules Attorney for the Arizona House of Representatives.Bassett is active with the Arizona Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the City ofPhoenix Paradise Valley Village Planning Commission and a Luke Air Force Base Honorary Commander.Bassett received his bachelorýs degree and his law degree from the University of Arizona. He is a member of the State Bar of Arizona.
