Gerrie Marks

Biography

Gerrie Marks joined Prudential Financial, Inc.'s External Affairs team, in September 2015 as Vice President, State Team Government Affairs (Mountain Region).From 2012-2015, Gerrie served as the Director of the Arizona Department of Insurance, where she oversaw the Department's financial and market regulation of over 2,000 insurers and 200,000 licensed insurance professionals. She also acted as Receiver for insolvent insurers, served as a statutory member of the Arizona State Governing Committee for Tax Deferred Annuities and Deferred Compensation Plans, and represented Arizona on the Interstate Insurance Product Regulation Commission. Gerrie actively participated in the NAIC, including serving as the Vice Chair of the Western Zone and as a member of the Executive Committee.Prior to becoming Director, Gerrie spent nine years as the Deputy Director and six years as Executive Assistant for Regulatory Affairs at the Arizona Department of Insurance. Before joining the Department of Insurance, Gerrie spent five years at the Office of the Arizona Attorney General as an Assistant AG. She received her J.D. from Arizona State University College of Law and her B.A. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
