Biography
Don Nunnari has been living his passion for “people serving people†for over 22 years in his career at AAA, where nearly 10 million roadside assistance calls have been completed under his watch. He started his AAA career in Cleveland where his vision led the organization to adopt new technology that optimized road service delivery. Championing innovation within the company, he also pioneered new products such as car financing and mobile battery delivery. He transferred to the Arizona club in 2007, and has held executive positions in membership, travel and automotive services. Currently, Nunnari is Vice President of Automotive Services, the group responsible for roadside assistance, club-owned repair shops, mobile glass repair, car buying services and the approved auto repair program. He led AAA’s commercial expansion, and has helped the club secure contracts with businesses including COX Communications and the Arizona Department of Transportation. Nunnari’s expertise in building organization support has allowed his teams at AAA to create balance between resources and customer needs. Distinguished by his ability to turn strategy into reality, he has improved member satisfaction while simultaneously adding more member services including six club-owned automotive repair facilities as well as, mobile windshield replacement and electric vehicle charging at roadside.His inspirational leadership and innovative approach to problem solving has led to programs and business practices that have been recognized nationally. In 2012, Nunnari won the National Association of Fleet Administrators Idea Award and in 2016, he was presented the AAA National Innovation Award. Prior to AAA, Nunnari held a career in banking where he worked with a number of Cleveland institutions in positions ranging from branch manager to senior vice president of retail operations. That background covered a broad spectrum of senior executive responsibilities including marketing, call centers, branch operation, consumer lending, human resources and facilities. At TransOhio, Ohio’s largest savings bank, he consolidated silo support operations and became the senior executive for a newly created corporate services division that coordinated purchasing, corporate records and bank property management. Working to optimize their retail branch footprint, he created a branch analysis model the bank used to assess location and financial viability. He also started and ran a marketing consulting company and a commercial printing business. Nunnari holds an MBA from Baldwin Wallace University of Ohio and a Bachelor of Science in Organization Development from Bowling Green State University of Ohio. He has served on several non-profit Boards of Directors including Sales and Marketing Executives of Cleveland, The Institute of Financial Education and The Financial Marketers of Ohio where he was the founder and first chairman of that organization. He also founded and was the first president of The Northeastern Ohio Customer Contact Association.
