Biography
Dr. Dana C. Hilt, M.D. served as Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President of Clinicle Development at FORUM Pharmaceuticals Inc. since September 2007. Dr. Hilt had more than 15 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry. He is responsible for coordinating all pre-clinical and clinical development activities of FORUM's growing pipeline. He is also responsible for the development of a drug candidate after it is nominated into development from basic research. He served as Senior Vice President, Clinical Research, Medical Affairs and Development and Chief Medical Officer for Critical Therapeutics Inc., from May 2006 to September 25, 2007. Dr. Hilt is a distinguished neurologist with extensive drug development experience from his tenures at Amgen Inc. and Guilford Pharmaceuticals. He served as Senior Vice President of Drug Development and Chief Medical Officer of Ascend Therapeutics, Inc. He served as Vice President of Clinical Research for Gilford Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Hilt joined Guilford Pharmaceuticals as Vice President, Clinical Research in May 1998. Since February 1999, he served as Vice President, Clinical Research and Drug Metabolism of Guilford Pharmaceuticals. Hewas employed by Amgen Inc. and served as Director, Neuroscience from 1996 to 1998. Dr. Hilt served on the staff of the National Institute of Health for five years. In addition, he has held both scientific and professorial positions with the University of Southern California School of Medicine and the University of Maryland School of Medicine where he was a clinical Associate Professor in the department of Neurology. He was on the staff of the NIH for five years performing both basic molecular neurobiology research and clinical studies at the NIH clinical center. He was involved in the development of a variety of potential therapeutics including drugs for Parkinson's Disease, ALS, Alzheimer's Disease, oncologic diseases including malignant glioma, chronic pain, metabolic disorders and inflammatory conditions. At the beginning of his career, Dr. Hilt was a Resident Fellow in Neurology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and interned at Harvard University Medical School. He serves as a Member of Clinical Advisory Board at Frequency Therapeutics, Inc. Dr. Hilt is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, Movement Disorders Society, American Society for Experimental Neurotherapeutics, American Association for the Advancement of Science, Society for Neuroscience and Endocrine Society. He co-authored more than 100 publications and book chapters in basic and clinical neurosciences. Dr. Hilt received his B.S. degree in Chemistry from the University of Maine, his M.D. from Tufts University School of Medicine and received training in Internal Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Neurology at Johns Hopkins Hospital
