Biography
Dr. Andrew Dukowicz has recently relocated to join Asheville Gastroenterology Associates. He received his medical degree from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. After his Internal Medicine residency at Beth-Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, he completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. At AGA, he will practice general gastroenterology, with a special focus in esophageal disorders. His special interests include Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease, Esophageal Disease and Motility Disorders, Gastroparesis, and Capsule endoscopy. Dr. Dukowicz is a member of several professional organizations including the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the North Carolina Medical Society, and the Buncombe County Medical Society.
Research Interest
Signal transduction pathways involved in gastrointestinal smooth muscle cells. Thin filament regulation of smooth muscle activity and provide a regenerative medicine approach to the treatment of gastric motility disorders in an ever expanding aging population.
