Biography
Catherine Levitt is senior vice president, regional general counsel and secretary of Astellas in the Americas region. In this role, Levitt will oversee the Legal Department, including Risk Management, and will serve as a member of the Astellas US Management Committee. Levitt joined Fujisawa - merged with Yamanuchi in 2005 to create Astellas - in 2004 as assistant general counsel, specializing in litigation. She was subsequently promoted to associate general counsel, followed by deputy general counsel. In 2013, she was promoted to vice president of Risk Management and chief litigation counsel for Astellas US, followed by vice president of Legal in March 2016. Prior to Astellas, Levitt served as corporate counsel at Baxter Healthcare and People’s Energy, and began her career at the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP. Levitt earned her JD from the University of Illinois College of Law.
