James Christopher Passin

Biography

Mr. James Christopher Passin, also known as Chris, has been a Fund Manager since 1999 and Principal at Firebird Management LLC. Mr. Passin serves as a Manager and Director of Firebird Global Master Fund Holdings, Ltd. He co-founded and manages Firebird Mongolia Fund and Firebird New Mongolia Fund. He serves as Fund Manager at Firebird Global Fund II, Ltd. and Firebird Global Fund, L.P. He serves as a Principal at FGS Advisors LLC and FG2 Advisors LLC. Prior to that, he served as an Investment Fund Manager at Wedge Energy International, Inc, since January 25, 2010. Previously, he was an Editor and Research Director at Taipan and an Associate at the Market Technicians Association. Mr. Passin has been named "Fund Manager of the Year" at the 2012 Mines and Money Conference. Prior to that, Mr. Passin served as the Chief Executive Officer and President at Vanoil Energy Ltd. from December 16, 2011 to September 2012. He has been the Chairman of Vanoil Energy Ltd. since December 16, 2011 and has been its Independent Director since December 10, 2009. He has been the Non-Executive Chairman of Fluormin PLC since June 1, 2012 and has been its Director since November 18, 2008. He serves as the Chairman of Khot Infrastructure Holdings, Ltd. and has been its Director since November 14, 2011. He served as Chairman at Voltaic Minerals Corp. ( also known as Prima Diamond Corp.) since February 2014. Mr. Passin served as the Chairman of the Board of Prima Fluorspar Corp. since February 2014. He serves as a Director of AVAX Technologies Inc. Prior to that, he served as a Director of Vangold Resources Ltd. from June 2009 to December 16, 2011 and Director of Caspian Services, Inc. from January 28, 2005 to March 4, 2008. He served a Director at Wedge Energy International since January 25, 2010. He serves as a Director of Sharyn Gol JSC, National Investment Bank of Mongolia, Khot Development JSC, Baganuur JSC, BDSec JSC and Undur Tolgoi Minerals Inc. Previously, He is a recipient of the Mining Sector 90-Year Anniversary Honorary Medal from the Mongolian government and was awarded the Honorary Medal from Khentii Aimag. Mr. Passin is an Economist.
