Biography
Olivia Sevilla, Ed.D., LCSW, brings valuable practice experience to the program, including executive directorship since 1988 of Bilingual Family Counseling Services, an agency considered to be at the forefront of community leadership and training in areas such as multicultural services, school interventions, school-based counseling, and child/family therapy. For 10 years she also worked as a consultant and trainer for the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools on topics related to therapeutic and counseling interventions, and she is a certified trainer for Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST). Sevilla has also taught for several years in MFT and community college programs; courses taught include Introduction to Social Work; Counseling the Elderly Adult; Dying, Death, and Bereavement; and practicum courses for MFT and Psy.D. candidates. In addition, she has been closely involved with a number of community-agency collaborations, provided leadership on agency boards, and engaged in extensive grant writing.
