Biography
Dr. Závodská is an Associate Professor of Environmental Sciences. She joined the School of Professional and Career Education (PACE) at Barry University in 2002. In her role as Academic Coordinator for Natural Sciences, she oversees PACE’s science curriculum. She also teaches courses in environmental science and on climate change. She is a trained garbologist who conducts international municipal solid waste research. She earned a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences from the University of Arizona in Tucson while working with a private, non-profit environmental organisation where she headed an NIH-funded environmental health project along the Arizona/Mexico border. Additionally, she was involved in research projects aimed at reusing recyclable materials, testing optical sorters for glass and analysing home health remedies.
