John A. Rushing

Biography

John A. Rushing, Sr., DBA, SPHR, GPHR is an Assistant Professor for Administration in the School of Professional And Career Education at Barry University. He previously served as Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs and Regional Director for North Florida. His bachelor's degree is from the University of Miami, Master's Degree in International Business is from Nova University and his Doctor of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University. He teaches in the Master's of Administration program and in the undergraduate administration program. His research interests are international human resource management, professional ethics, academic professional development and education research. Dr. Rushing is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resource Management and a Global Professional in Human Resource Management. He has served on the board of the Big Bend Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management. He is a member of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) as served on the board of the Tallahassee branch of ASTD. He is a member of the Academy of International Business and has served as the Historian and the Secretary of the Academy of International Business SE USA Chapter. He is a fellow of the SE USA Chapter of the Academy of International Business. Dr. Rushing served on the PACE faculty committee for adjunct faculty professional development and serves on the Distance Education Committee. He served as a Faculty Senator, and served on the Ethics Committee and now serves on the Course Exchange Committee. In the community he served as Vice President of the Reston Homeowners Association. Dr. Rushing is the author of two children’s books and one novel and is a member of the Tallahassee Writers Association. Prior to moving to Tallahassee he served on the Board of Broward County ASTD and the Board of the Barry University Chapter of PDK and was a member of the American Education Research Association.
