Biography
Professor Broihahn received his Bachelor of Science, Master of Business Administration and Master of Science degrees from the University of Wisconsin. He is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Florida and Wisconsin, and holds the professional credentials of Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified in Financial Management (CFM), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Certified Fund Specialist (CFS). Professor Broihahn also holds a Graduate Gemologist Diploma from the Gemological Institute of America. Professor Broihahn began his business career as a financial auditor with Price Waterhouse in Milwaukee. After a year of doctoral study at the University of California – Berkeley, he joined Fox & Carskadon Financial Corporation as a portfolio controller. Fox was a syndicator of public and private real estate limited partnerships and was known as one of the Big 6 in the industry. In 1982, Mr. Broihahn joined ComputerLand Corporation, a franchisor of retail computer stores, as Corporate Controller and Director of Financial Reporting. In 1985, he returned to Milwaukee as the CFO for ComputerBay, also a franchisor of computer retail stores. In 1988, he joined the faculty at the Andreas School of Business. Professor Broihahn is a member of the American Institute of CPA's, the Florida Institute of CPA's, the Institute of Internal Auditors, the Institute of Management Accountants, the American Accounting Association, and the Financial Analysts Society of Miami. Since 2000, he has served the Association for Investment Management and Research (AIMR) as a member of its Council of Examiners. He has also been a senior grader for the Chartered Financial Analyst Examinations since 1995.
