Biography
Wes Henricksen is an Assistant Professor of Law at Barry University School of Law. He graduated number one in his major and with summa cum laude honors at Washington State University, and received his J.D. from the University of Washington, where he served as the Executive Notes & Comments Editor on the Washington Law Review. His scholarly interests focus on securities regulation, fraud, and law and science. His recent scholarship includes articles addressing the legal standard to be applied in cases of fraudulent misrepresentation of scientific knowledge, and his articles have appeared or are forthcoming in the UMKC Law Review, the Washington Law Review, and elsewhere. He is also the author of Making Law Review, a guidebook for law students that explains how the write-on competition works, and presents advice from dozens of law review members about how to succeed in it. At Barry Law, Professor Henricksen teaches securities regulation and legal writing. Prior to entering the legal academy, he clerked for the Hon. Bruce J. McGiverin at the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico and spent nearly a decade in private practice in Miami and San Diego. He has also worked, lived, or studied in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, and Peru. He is a member of the bar associations of California, the District of Columbia, and Florida, and he is fluent in Spanish.
