Biography
Mr. Ali A. Azad serves as President at Bartlett Holdings, Inc. Mr. Azad served as the Chief Business Development Officer and Senior Vice President at The Babcock & Wilcox Company since April 2012. Mr. Azad was responsible for business development and strategic planning activities at The Babcock & Wilcox and its five operating groups. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Generation mPower LLC. Mr. Azad served as Senior Vice President and Chief Business Development Officer of Aquilex Corporation until March 4, 2011. He has founded industry-based consulting firms as well as led strategic growth and business development initiatives for venture capital firms in the US. Mr. Azad served as the Senior Vice President for International of Aquilex Holdings LLC. until March 4, 2011. He served as President of Aquilex, WSI Nuclear Services He served as Senior vice president and President of Welding Services, Inc. (WSI). He has also held management positions at Washington Group International, First Solar, American Electric Power Co. and Duke Energy Corp. Mr. Azad served as Director of Business Development for Washington Group International's Power Business Unit. In that role, he was responsible for developing long-term strategic alliances with major utilities in the southeast, developing and executing a portfolio of services for financial and private equity investors, and developing corporate Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle technology strategy. Mr. Azad was founder and Chief Executive Officer of North Rim Energy, a consulting and advisory service firm to Fortune 500 and middle market growth companies. Mr. Azad served as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for First Solar Corporation, a venture capital company in Arizona. He also served as Principle Marketing and Origination executive for the venture firm. He served as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for American Electric Power (AEP), he focused on non-regulated merchant energy business. Prior to joining AEP's energy service business, he served as Managing Director of International Project Development for AEP Resources based in Singapore. Starting his career at Duke Energy Nuclear operations as a start-up and operations engineer at Catawba nuclear station, Mr. Azad was responsible for all primary system performance testing and start up activities. He later joined Duke Engineering and Services, where he was responsible for outage maintenance planning and execution activities at PWR stations. Mr. Azad holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and a master of business administration degree from Wake Forest University in North Carolina.
