Biography
Kenneth Lane began his current role as President of BASF’s global Catalysts Division in June 2013. As Catalysts Division President, Ken heads the world’s leading supplier of environmental and process catalysts, with more than 5,000 employees and 30 manufacturing sites worldwide. Immediately prior to his current role, Ken served as Senior Vice President, Isocyanates Europe, based in Brussels. A 22-year veteran of the chemicals industry with considerable international experience, Ken joined BASF in 2006 as Director, Urethane Chemicals, Wyandotte, MI. He was named Senior Vice President, Strategic Marketing Polyurethanes, Brussels, three years later. Before joining BASF, Ken held various positions with leading chemical industry players, most recently as Vice President, Business Optimization with Innovene, based in Shanghai. Prior to that, he served various leadership roles with BP Chemicals in Naperville, IL, and London; BP Amoco in Decatur, AL; and Amoco in Kuantan, Malaysia. A native of South Carolina, Ken holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Clemson University and a master’s degree in management from the University of Alabama.
