Biography
Ron Townsend is Executive Vice President of Global Laboratory Operations, a position he has held since 2009. He oversees Battelle’s role in the management of eight laboratories: six national laboratories for the U.S. Department of Energy, one laboratory for the Department of Homeland Security. Prior to joining Battelle, Ron served as the President of Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) and as Commandant of the Air Force Institute of Technology located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Ron earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mathematics from Kansas State University and completed his doctoral degree in meteorology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
