Biography
Richard “Dick” Caldera has over 30 years of multinational experience at the divisional and corporate levels of top international companies. He became Bayer’s Head of Human Resources for the U.S. in 2012 where he is a member of Bayer’s U.S. Country Council. He joined Bayer from Heidrick and Struggles International, Inc. where he was Chief Human Resources Officer and also a member of the Executive Committee. Prior to that, he was with Royal Philips Electronics N.V. and during his tenure, 2004 to 2008, was SVP, Human Resources for Medical Systems and later served as SVP, Human Resources Mergers & Acquisitions for the healthcare sector. Mr. Caldera was SVP, Human Resources at Skanska A.B. from 2002 to 2004 where he led the global HR function while based in Stockholm and New York. Previously, he served as SVP and Senior Human Resources Officer Global Operations at CNA Financial Corporation. Mr. Caldera began his career at Amoco Corporation, now BP Plc., in 1980 and held a number of positions of increasing responsibilities in upstream, downstream and corporate over 18 years—including having lead the HR function for European chemical operations while living in Geneva, Switzerland from 1989 through 1994. He earned an MBA degree from Marquette University and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame.
