Research Interest
Solid organ transplantation and hematopoietic cell transplantation are radical therapies for fatal conditions. However, post-transplant immune complications including graft rejection limit the extended use of these therapies. Current treatment strategies in organ transplantation nonspecifically block the inflammatory immune response, leading to a wide range of adverse effects such as severe infections and cancer. To minimize these adverse effects, a new emerging approach is to induce the antigen-specific suppression of the immune response while leaving protective immunity intact.
