Julie K. Ivey-hatz

Biography

Julie Ivey Hatz, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Educational Psychology Department and a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology. Dr. Hatz supervises School Psychology graduate students in public schools who provide direct services to children and students in the community. She has numerous publications and state and national presentations in the area of developmental disabilities. Dr. Hatz’s research agenda includes children with autism, family systems, equine therapy, sibling issues, extreme sports camps, and coping styles of parents related to developmental disabilities. She serves as a scientific journal reviewer for national journals. She is an active member of the National Association of School Psychology (NASP), Texas Association of School Psychology (TASP) and the Texas Autism Research & Resource Center (TARRC) associated with The Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services (DARS). She is the founder of the Baylor Autism Resource Clinic (BARC), a part of the Baylor Center for Developmental Disabilities. She has recently been selected to serve on the Health and Human Services Commission on the Policy Council for the state of Texas.
