Robert C. Cloud

Biography

Robert C. Cloud, Ed.D., is a Professor of Higher Education and Chair of the Department of Educational Leadership in the School of Education. He holds four academic degrees and is a former college administrator, having served as President of Lee College in Texas for ten years and as Vice President, Dean, and Department Chair for an additional ten years in three other Texas colleges. Dr. Cloud joined the Baylor University graduate faculty in 1988 and has served as chair of two academic departments at Baylor, EDL and the Department of Health, Human Performance, and Recreation (HHPR). Dr. Cloud’s current research interests include higher education leadership, educational law and policy, current issues, governance, the federal student loan program and student debt, and organizational behavior. He has published 105 articles in professional journals, five books, four book chapters, and three monographs. His edited books on legal issues and governance in the community colleges are required reading in graduate higher education leadership programs across the nation, and his 1995 booklet titled Drugs in Society was a National Health Information Awards winner. Robert C. Cloud is committed to instructional excellence, focusing on integrity, compassion, and the application and integration of knowledge. Dr. Cloud teaches in a highly organized, interactive, and enriched environment which integrates intense issues-based learning, humor, and respect for students. He places students’ interests first; followed closely by research, writing, and publication in a wide array of professional venues. Dr. Robert C. Cloud is a Distinguished Alumnus of Howard Payne University (2004). He received the Outstanding Graduate Faculty Award from the Baylor University Graduate Student Association in 2003-04.
