Biography
Mr. J. Robert Hurley, Bob has been the Chief Executive Officer of Beckman Coulter Inc. since September 6, 2010 and also serves as its President. Mr. Hurley served as an Interim President of Beckman Coulter Inc. since September 6, 2010. He has been an Interim Diagnostic Division President of Beckman Coulter Inc. since June 6th 2011. Mr. Hurley served as Senior Vice President of Human Resources of Beckman Coulter Inc. since July 12, 2005. He served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications and Vice President of Human Resources and Corporate Communications of Beckman Coulter Inc., since May 23, 2005. Mr. Hurley served as a Corporate Vice President of integration and alliance management, of Baxter International Inc. Mr. Hurley served as corporate Vice President of Baxter World Trade Corporation and President of Japan from 1993 to 2000. Mr. Hurley joined Beckman Coulter from Baxter International Inc. where he was Corporate Vice President, Restructuring. In this role, at Beckman Coulter Inc., Mr. Hurley was responsible for all aspects of human resources, along with internal and external communications. Mr. Hurley joined Baxter/American Hospital Supply Corporation in 1980 and advanced through levels of increasing responsibility in the human resources function. Since 1987, he was Vice President of Human Resources, Global Businesses with Human Resouces responsibility for Baxter's diagnostics, renal, biotech, medication delivery and cardiovascular groups, and international operations. Since 1992, Mr. Hurley served as Corporate Vice President and President of Baxter Japan/China. In 2001, he relocated to California to lead the integration of mergers and acquisitions into Baxter, and then assumed responsibility for it's major restructuring effort in 2004. He has been Chairman of Beckman Coulter Japan since August 2009. He served as a Captain in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1980 and is the former Chairman of the Medical Device and Diagnostics Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan. Mr. Hurley holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Georgia, Athens.
