Biography

Prof. Joseph A. Izatt PhD, is Editor-In-Chief of Biomedical Optics Express at The Optical Society Of America Incorporated (OSA). Dr. Izatt co-founded Bioptigen, Inc. in 2004 and serves as its Chief Science Officer and Chairman. Dr. Izatt served as Chief Technology Officer at Bioptigen Inc. Dr. Izatt has more than two decades of leading-edge research in biophotonics, and more than $7M of federal and corporate-sponsored R&D on OCT, which he has supervised in his university appointments since 1994. Dr. Izatt has been Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Director of the Laboratory for Biophotonics of the Fitzpatrick Center for Photonics and Communications Systems at Duke University since 2001.
