Randy G. Woelfel

Biography

 Martin Travers is the Group President of Black & Veatch's Telecommunications and Government businesses. He joined the Black & Veatch Board of Directors in 2012. He also serves as the Executive Sponsor of the company’s Smart Integrated Infrastructure and Data Centers initiatives.   Randy Woelfel joined the Black & Veatch Board in 2013. He is currently an advisor to several international companies in the fields of energy and petrochemicals.   Woelfel was the Chief Executive Officer of NOVA Chemicals from 2009 to 2014. He has 37 years of extensive industry experience, beginning his career with Shell Oil Company in 1977. While at Shell Oil, he was a key member of the team which helped create Montell Polyolefins — today part of Lyondell Basell. He subsequently held the positions of President Basell International and President Basell North America.   Prior to joining NOVA Chemicals, he was Managing Director of Energy for the Houston Technology Center, Texas' largest incubator and accelerator for emerging technology companies; and President of Cereplast, Inc, a bioplastics developer.   During his 14 years of international management experience, he served as a board member of numerous polyolefin-related public and private companies in South America, the Middle East and Asia. He also served two terms as a Director of the American Chemistry Council, America's oldest trade association of its kind - representing companies in the field of chemistry.   Woelfel earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Rice University and a Masters in Management from MIT's Sloan School of Business
